An abscess is a localized collection of pus caused by a bacterial infection. It occurs when harmful bacteria invade a specific area of the body, triggering an immune response. Abscesses can develop in various body parts, such as the skin, organs, or teeth. While abscesses and boils share similarities, there is a notable difference between them. Abscesses result from deeper tissue infections, whereas boils originate from infected hair follicles. Contributing factors include bacterial infections, compromised immune function, or poor hygiene.
Bacteria in the blood can make abscesses and boils worse and lead to more severe complications. Abscesses and boils are localized skin infections caused by bacteria, most commonly Staphylococcus aureus. These bacteria enter the body through cuts, wounds, hair follicles, or other openings in the skin and cause an infection in the deeper tissues.
If the infection is left untreated or not properly managed, the bacteria can multiply and spread to surrounding tissues. In some cases, the bacteria can enter the bloodstream, causing a condition known as bacteremia. Bacteremia occurs when bacteria are present in the blood.
When bacteria are in the blood, they can disseminate to other parts of the body, leading to more serious conditions, such as:
Abscess contains herbs such as Burdock Root, traditionally used for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, and its positive effect on abscesses, while Cat’s Claw has similar properties, but is known as a potent inhibitor of the production of certain pro-inflammatory cytokines. Clove is well known to treat tooth abscesses and pain due to its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic and analgesic properties. The combination of ingredients which include some vitamins, zinc and msm, improves the immune system to assist in naturally fighting abscesses and boils, and the prevention thereof.
What Causes Boils?
Over time, a boil will develop a collection of pus in its centre, known as the core of the boil. Do not attempt to remove the core, as doing so can cause the infection to worsen or spread to other areas. Use a skin healing cream externally.
Most boils are caused by staph bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), which many healthy people carry on their skin or in their noses without a problem. When a scrape, cut, or splinter breaks the skin, the bacteria can enter a hair follicle and start an infection. Others boils, such as those associated with acne, develop from clogged pores that become infected
